Fit thru Faith is built on the following foundational biblical and spiritual principles:

1) Spirit Power is your foundation

Psalms 127:1 - "Unless the Lord builds the house, the builder’s labor in vein."

The evidence and research is clear - diets fail long term.  Why? Because most are based on some form of short term or long term deprivation – relying on WILLPOWER. Willpower is limited and we all have it various quantities. SPIRIT POWER, on the other hand, is limitless and available in abundance. The verse above clarifies why the average dieter makes 4 attempts per year (laboring in vein). Our foundation and our temple needs to be built from spiritual bricks and mortar.

2) Your Body is a TEMPLE

1 Corinthian 6:19 - “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body."

This familiar verse paints the picture of our bodies as temples. A temple is a something beautiful (inside and out) and strong – a place of worship. We are told in this verse to HONOR God with our bodies – but what does that mean?

Webster’s defines HONOR as -- privilege; an exalted title or rank; one whose worth brings respect or fame; an evidence or symbol of distinction; chastity; purity; integrity – and so on and so on…

We need to begin to see, nourish and move our bodies as the temples that they are.  We are only given one to work with and through, so let's honor the gift we've been given.

3) POWER to live a life of whole body health is inside of us

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you."

If you didn’t get the memo – the Holy Spirit has come. And according to the verse we just read in I Cor 6:19, the Holy Spirit “lives” inside of our bodies. Let’s take a deeper look at that. Acts 1:8 says that we will receive POWER when the Holy Spirit comes. Putting I Cor 6:19 and Acts 1:8 together we get the revelation that the Holy Spirit that “lives” inside of us fills us with POWER.

POWER (according to Webster’s) - a possession of control, authority or influence over others (or our bodies – I added this); ability to act or produce an effect; dominion.

The POWER source to produce change is inside of us. We just need to seize and possess that POWER to transform our mindsets, choices and behaviors towards whole body health and wellness.

God is telling us to VALUE our bodies – to make them a priority and not to take them for granted. When we VALUE something, we make it a CONSISTENT priority. God wants our whole body health to be a present and conscious priority in our lives.

Another important revelation in this scripture is that the Holy Spirit dwells inside of our bodies. I don’t know about you, but when company is coming over to my house - the priority is to get my house in order and keep it that way - at least until they leave. Why? Because I want to present a clean and healthy environment where my guests instantly feel special, welcome and comfortable. How do you think the Holy Spirit feels “living” in an unhealthy, uncared for, taken for granted house? Do you think it feels honored, reverenced, valued, prioritized?

Just as our heart sustains us physically, the Holy Spirit sustains our bodies spiritually. In obedience, reverence and honor to the triune God, we need to “renew our minds” to prioritize, value and care for our bodies by making consistent, conscious healthy choices.

4) God’s Inspiration – Your Perspiration TM

I Corinthians 9:24-27 - Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. 27 No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

I love this verse because it’s so rich. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just win at everything without having to make an effort? Unfortunately that just isn’t the case. In order to make a lifestyle shift, it will take mindful focus– not approaching your health “like a man running aimlessly.” Paul’s language of “beating his body and making it his slave” is strong, but it speaks truth. Fit thru Faith will educate, inspire and supply all of the practical tools you need to achieve your exceedingly abundant.

5) It’s a MIND Thing

Romans 12:2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

So many of our battles deal with mind stuff - how we see and value ourselves, our past failures and pains, cultural conditioning, etc. FIT THRU FAITH’s first attack is creating healthy and focused thoughts toward whole body wellness. The bible says in Proverbs 23:7:

Proverbs 23:7 - “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”

According to that scripture and many other deep thinkers, experts and philosophers – our thoughts define who we are. Our negative thoughts are just as powerful as our positive ones. Despite what our thoughts and conditioning were yesterday, we can not only change our minds, but according to Romans 12:2, we can transform them in a new enlightened direction.

FIT THRU FAITH cleans house – clearing out the toxic, sabotaging and outright LIES of our inner critic and creating thoughts that are so consistently powerful and positive that they penetrate your heart and actions to look, feel, love and live your best life.

Philippians 3:13-14 - FORGETTING what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

The beauty of the Christian walk is that God doesn’t expect perfection from us – but He does expect our best. When we fall down, He calls us to get back up. Just as every great man and woman of the bible dealt with sin, failure and “stuff”, we have stuff – past baggage, failures, scars, wounds, victimizations and hurts. But the great thing about those bible stories is that those great men and women triumphed in the end, because they were called to a higher purpose – just like us.

It doesn’t matter what has been blocking you from embracing an exceedingly abundant life of wellness. It doesn’t matter what you’ve gone through and how difficult the possibility of changing your life may feel. Success is not only possible – it is the height to which God has called you.
We are “more than conquerors” in Christ. The FIT THRU FAITH VILLAGE will support you as we all attempt to “throw off everything that hinders and the sin (stuff) that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” – Hebrews 12:1 - because today is a new day.

7) Your Health is to be ENJOYED!

"3 John 1:2 Dear friend, I pray that you may ENJOY good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well."

This is one of my favorites.  God wants us to ENJOY our good health.  Eating, moving and living should be a pleasurable experience.  And the great thing is that it actually is!!! He has provided an ABUNDANT buffet of deliciousness that we can put together in unlimited ways that fuel and nourish our temples to fulfill his will our lives.

8) CHOOSE Life!

"Deuteronomy 30:19 - This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live "

Although this is the last verse listed, it all begins with making a CHOICE.  Life is about choices. Your whole body health is about choices.  Our friends, relatives and people we may not even know are dying needlessly from PREVENTABLE chronic disease daily.  You have too much to give and contribute this world!  Begin to make small changes today and CHOOSE LIFE!
