Fit thru Faith is bible based. The following scriptural principles build the core foundation:

1) SPIRIT POWER is your foundation

Psalms 127:1 – Unless the Lord builds the house, the builder’s labor in vain.

Over 90% of diets fail, and mostly because they’re based on some form of short or long term deprivation – relying on WILLPOWER. Willpower is limited and we all have it in various quantities. SPIRIT POWER, on the other hand, is limitless and available in abundance.

This verse underscores why the average dieter makes 4 attempts per year (laboring in vain). Your foundation and temple needs to be built upon the Solid Rock. Connecting your Faith to your whole body fitness is where your adventure begins.

2) Your body is a TEMPLE

1 Corinthian 6:19 - Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

This familiar verse paints the picture of your body as a temple. A temple is something beautiful (inside and out) and strong – a place of worship. Your body is on loan, and you have the responsibility to take care of it and honor God with it. How you choose to nourish and move your body matters!

3) The POWER inside of you gives you FREEDOM

2 Corinthians 3:17 - Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Freedom.

According to Acts 1:8 - You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes. And then in Romans 8:11 it says, “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” As my pastor says, the spirit that raised a dead Jesus is inside you. Now that’s some serious power.
That POWER source to produce change is inside of you, and where that spirit is, you have freedom – freedom from toxic behaviors, cravings, addictions, excuses and anything that is standing in the way of you living fully and boldly in your purpose.

In Galatians 5:16 the word says that – “when you walk by the spirit, you won’t gratify the desires of the flesh.” You can conquer cravings and experience freedom in your relationship with food.

God tells you to VALUE your body – to make it a priority and not to take it for granted. When you VALUE something, you make it a CONSISTENT priority. God wants your health to be a present and conscious priority in your life to truly experience His freedom.

4) God’s Inspiration – Your Perspiration TM

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 - Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. 27 No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

I love this verse because it’s so rich. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just win at everything without having to make an effort? Unfortunately, that just isn’t the case. In order to make a lifestyle shift, it will take mindful focus– not approaching your health “like a man running aimlessly.” Paul’s language of “beating his body and making it his slave” is strong, but it speaks truth. T3 will educate, inspire and supply all of the practical tools you need to achieve your exceedingly abundant life.

5) It’s a MIND Thing

Romans 12:2 - And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

So many of your battles deal with mind stuff - how you see and value yourself, your past failures and pains, cultural conditioning, etc. Once your faith and fitness are connected, the next battlefield is the mind - creating healthy, positive and focused thoughts about your whole body health.

The bible says in Proverbs 23:7 - “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” According to that scripture and many other deep thinkers, experts and philosophers, your thoughts define who you are. Your negative thoughts can be just as powerful as your positive ones. Despite what your thoughts and conditioning were yesterday, you can not only change your mind, but according to Romans 12:2, you can transform them!

T3 cleans house by clearing out the toxic and sabotaging thoughts of your inner critic and replacing them with what God says about you. It is then that those powerful and positive thoughts can penetrate your heart and actions to transform the way you think, look, feel, and serve.

Philippians 3:13-14 - FORGETTING what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

God doesn’t expect perfection – but He does expect your best. When you fall down, He calls you to get back up. Just as every great man and woman of the bible dealt with sin, failure and “stuff”, we have stuff – past baggage, failures, scars, wounds, victimizations and hurts. But the great thing about those bible stories is that most of those great men and women triumphed in the end because they were called to a higher purpose- just like you.

It doesn’t matter what has been blocking you from embracing an exceedingly abundant life of whole body health. It doesn’t matter what you’ve gone through and how difficult the possibility of changing your life may feel – success is possible! You can do all things! You are “more than a conqueror”!

Your T3 Tribe and The Fit thru Faith Village will support you as you “throw off everything that hinders and the sin (stuff) that so easily entangles, so you can run with perseverance the race marked out for you.” – Hebrews 12:1. Today is a new day!

7) Eat & Drink to God’s Glory

1 Corinthians 10:31 - So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Love this verse! It is as profound as it is challenging. It’s calling you to approach everything (including how you eat and drink) as an act of worship. Yes, you should be mindful about how you feed and fuel God’s creation and His temple. As you grow in your mindfulness, consider if what you are eating and drinking is giving glory to God.  Are your food choices predominately from God’s buffet or man’s buffet?

8) It’s Already Done!

Philippians 1:6 – Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Another favorite and beautiful reminder that it ain't over until God says it over. You may have tried other methods to lose weight and improve your health, but now it’s time to try God’s way. You will still be challenged and need to face some things outside of your comfort zone, be if you show up for yourself daily with conviction and commitment, He is faithful to complete the work.

9) Your Health is to be ENJOYED!

3 John 1:2 - Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well."

Your good health is to be enjoyed! Making healthy food choices and moving your body regularly is not a death sentence =). In fact, God has given you a pretty awesome and yummy buffet. As you build your Divinely Designed Healthy Life*Style Practice, enjoyment must be at the center for lasting success.

10) CHOOSE Life!

Deuteronomy 30:19 – “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live "

Life is about choices. Your good health is about choices. Each day with every meal, you have a choice to add life & nutrients or empty calories. The food you eat and the way you move your body all impact your ability to impact this world. As you age (gracefully), your body and metabolism slow down. To live long and strong, choose life fueling options. Food fuels your future.  The way you choose to nourish yourself spiritually and physically today impacts the way you will look, feel and serve tomorrow.
